AutoSafe™ Consumer Safety Label

How to Read AutoSafe™ Consumer Safety Label

The AutoSafe™ Consumer Safety Label is the visible, user-friendly interface of a very technical evaluation process. It brings the final class, key scores and verification status straight to the point of choice.

Each label is linked to a unique AutoSafe™ ID and QR code, allowing anyone to confirm that the rating is authentic, see domain breakdowns, and verify that the vehicle specification matches the tested configuration.

How Consumers Should Use It
  • Compare classes when choosing between trims.
  • Scan QR to check domain scores and authenticity.
  • Verify label matches exact vehicle configuration.

AutoSafe™ Label – Common Questions

An AutoSafe™ label is intended to reflect the vehicle as tested at a given point in time. If there are material changes to configuration, software or protocol versions over the life of the model, a review or re-assessment may be required to keep the label aligned with reality.

Not necessarily. AutoSafe™ ratings are configuration-focused, so differences in safety equipment, software packages or powertrain options can lead to different classes or domain scores within the same model family.

If a significant issue emerges after a label has been issued, the case may trigger a technical review. Depending on findings, the status shown via QR could be updated, or the rating may be amended, paused or withdrawn.

The QR-linked record is considered the most up-to-date reference. If there is a mismatch between the sticker and the online record, consumers should rely on the digital information and may wish to seek clarification from the seller or IAF.

Significant OTA updates that affect safety functions, driver assistance or digital security may require a review of the existing rating. In such cases, the QR record can be updated to reflect the outcome of any follow-up assessments.

The label is designed as a clear safety and integrity signal, but it is not a complete buying guide. Consumers should consider other factors such as practical needs, running costs, service network and local regulations alongside the AutoSafe™ result.

As protocols evolve, new evidence appears and vehicles receive hardware or software changes, the relative performance of a model can shift. AutoSafe™ is designed to reflect current knowledge and test methods rather than freezing a rating forever.
