Industry Membership Mobility & Service Operators

Mobility & Service Operators

Membership pathways and committee-led collaboration for organizations operating mobility services—supporting consistent quality practices, shared operating expectations, and structured recognition following review and IAQC oversight.

Scope of membership for mobility operators

This membership area is intended for organizations that deliver mobility services to end users or fleets, including ride-hailing and ride-sharing platforms, car-sharing operators, subscription and rental mobility providers, shuttle and on-demand transit services, and operators managing connected or automated mobility offerings.

IAF is a membership-based federation and does not act as a regulator. Any recognition or approval within IAF is available only after membership and is issued through committee review with International Automotive Quality Council (IAQC) oversight.

What members typically work on

Mobility & Service Operator members participate in structured working groups to align operational practices and interface expectations across the mobility ecosystem—without replacing contractual obligations or local legal requirements.

Operational quality baselines

Define and maintain practical baseline expectations for service delivery (e.g., incident handling, service continuity, customer communication, and operational controls) that can be referenced across member programs.

Evidence-ready documentation

Establish common documentation patterns for policies, procedures, and records that support transparent internal reviews and committee assessment where applicable.

Committee review & recognition pathway

Participate in defined review steps for IAF recognition: eligibility checks after membership, structured submission, committee evaluation, corrective actions where needed, and IAQC oversight prior to any outcome.

Interface alignment across partners

Align expectations with OEMs, suppliers, fleet owners, insurers, and service partners on operational handoffs (e.g., maintenance coordination, data exchange boundaries, and escalation routes).

Membership outcomes and practical use

Members use IAF participation to compare operating approaches, reduce ambiguity in partner expectations, and strengthen internal controls through peer review. Outputs may include guidance notes, shared checklists, and agreed terminology that supports consistent communication across programs.

Where a member seeks IAF recognition for a defined scope, the process is limited to the scope submitted and reviewed. Recognition is not automatic and is not a substitute for external audits, contractual requirements, or jurisdictional obligations.

How this connects to IAF governance

Mobility & Service Operator activities are coordinated through member committees and working groups, with documented review steps and decision records. Any recognition or approval is considered only after membership and is issued following committee review under International Automotive Quality Council (IAQC) oversight to ensure consistency, impartiality, and traceable outcomes.
