How IAQC is Structured

IAQC is structured as a council-led governance body designed to ensure balance, representation, and clarity across quality-related activities within the International Automotive Federation (IAF) ecosystem.

Structural principle
Council-based governance
The IAQC structure emphasises representation and coordination, ensuring that governance-level quality considerations are addressed collectively while operational responsibilities remain distributed.

The IAQC Council

At the centre of the IAQC structure is the IAQC Council. The council is composed of appointed members drawn from relevant IAF committees, programme governance structures, and expert panels. Members are selected to reflect disciplinary balance and practical experience rather than institutional authority.

The council functions as a governance-level forum where quality principles, evaluation approaches, and oversight considerations are discussed and aligned. It does not replace programme ownership or committee mandates, but provides a shared reference space for consistency and integrity.

Panels and working groups

To support focused discussion and flexibility, IAQC may operate through panels or working groups established under the council’s oversight. These structures allow specific quality topics to be examined in greater depth without altering the core governance framework.

Thematic panels

Panels may focus on defined areas such as evaluation integrity, methodological alignment, or cross-programme consistency, operating either on a standing or time-limited basis.

Working groups

Working groups may be convened to explore emerging topics, technical developments, or governance questions, reporting findings back to the IAQC Council for consideration.

Secretariat and support functions

Administrative, coordination, and documentation support for IAQC is provided through the IAF secretariat. This ensures continuity, traceability, and proper record-keeping without creating a separate operational bureaucracy.

Secretariat support includes meeting coordination, documentation management, and facilitation of information flow between the council, panels, and relevant programme or committee structures.
