Automotive Quality Expert Programmes

Membership-based programmes that build practical competence in automotive quality methods, evidence-based assessment, and consistent application of industry requirements through structured learning and evaluated outcomes.

What the programmes cover

Automotive Quality Expert Programmes are designed to support member organisations and professionals who need a consistent, auditable understanding of quality planning, assurance, and improvement practices used across automotive supply chains. Content is structured to connect core principles with real-world implementation, including documentation discipline, process effectiveness, and risk-based decision-making.

The programmes are delivered within IAF’s membership context and are intended to complement organisational quality systems rather than replace them. Where recognition is offered, it is available only after membership and follows committee review with IAQC (International Automotive Quality Council) oversight.

Programme components and learning outcomes

Modules and activities are selected to strengthen capability in applying requirements, evaluating evidence, and improving process performance. Specific pathways may vary by member needs and committee-defined scope.

Role-aligned learning pathways

Structured tracks aligned to common quality roles (e.g., quality engineers, supplier quality, internal auditors), with clear prerequisites and progression criteria.

Evidence-based assignments

Casework and practical tasks focused on objective evidence, traceability, and defensible conclusions—supporting consistent evaluation across sites and teams.

Competence evaluation and feedback

Assessment methods that may include knowledge checks, scenario analysis, and reviewed submissions, with feedback aimed at improving application quality and consistency.

Cross-functional alignment

Focus on interfaces between engineering, production, purchasing, and quality to reduce handoff gaps and improve end-to-end process control and escalation clarity.

Who should participate and how it is used

These programmes are intended for professionals who contribute to quality planning, assurance, supplier development, auditing, or corrective action management. They are also suitable for academic and research members seeking a structured, practice-oriented framework to support applied research, curriculum alignment, or collaborative projects with industry.

Member organisations typically use the programmes to standardise internal expectations, strengthen onboarding for quality roles, and support consistent interpretation of requirements across teams. Any programme-based recognition is not automatic and is considered only after membership, committee review, and IAQC oversight.

Governance and recognition pathway

IAF is a membership-based federation. Programme scope, evaluation approach, and any recognition criteria are maintained through committee review and are subject to IAQC (International Automotive Quality Council) oversight. Recognition, where applicable, is issued only after membership is confirmed and the relevant review steps are completed.
