Regulatory & Compliance Specialist Training

A membership training pathway focused on practical compliance management in the automotive sector—covering regulatory monitoring, evidence-based conformity documentation, and cross-functional implementation within quality and engineering systems.

Purpose and scope within IAF membership

Regulatory & Compliance Specialist Training supports member organisations and individual professionals who need a structured approach to interpreting requirements, translating them into internal controls, and maintaining traceable records that withstand internal and external scrutiny.

The programme is designed for roles spanning compliance, homologation support functions, quality management, engineering change control, supplier quality, and technical documentation. It is delivered as a membership service and does not represent regulatory authority; any IAF recognition is available only after membership and is subject to committee review with IAQC oversight.

What the training covers

Modules are structured to help participants build a repeatable compliance workflow—from requirement intake through implementation, verification, and controlled evidence—aligned with organisational quality and risk practices.

Regulatory monitoring and change intake

Methods to identify applicable requirements, track updates, assess impact, and route changes through defined decision points with clear ownership and timelines.

Documentation and evidence control

Building compliant document sets: requirement matrices, rationale records, test/inspection evidence mapping, and controlled technical files aligned to internal document control.

Verification planning and traceability

Translating requirements into verifiable criteria, defining acceptance evidence, and maintaining end-to-end traceability across design, change management, and release processes.

Cross-functional governance and supplier alignment

Practical coordination across engineering, quality, purchasing, and suppliers—defining responsibilities, escalation paths, and audit-ready controls for outsourced activities.

Who it is for and expected outcomes

This training is intended for professionals who must interpret requirements and operationalise them—such as compliance specialists, quality engineers, regulatory coordinators, programme managers, technical documentation owners, and supplier quality representatives.

Participants should expect to leave with a clearer compliance workflow, improved requirement-to-evidence traceability, and practical templates for change intake, evidence mapping, and internal readiness reviews. Where applicable, members may pursue IAF recognition only after membership, following committee review and IAQC oversight.

How training connects to IAF governance and recognition

Training content is maintained through IAF’s membership-led technical committees and quality governance practices. Any recognition, listing, or endorsement associated with training outcomes is available only to members and is granted solely after committee review, under IAQC (International Automotive Quality Council) oversight. IAF does not act as a regulator and does not issue legal determinations.
