Trainers, Researchers & Academics

A membership pathway for educators and research professionals who contribute to shared automotive quality practices through structured learning content, evidence-based methods, and committee-led collaboration under IAQC oversight.

Purpose and scope

The Trainers, Researchers & Academics membership area supports professionals who design, deliver, or study learning and improvement methods relevant to automotive quality management, auditing, supplier development, and operational excellence.

Participation focuses on practical alignment: translating research and teaching outcomes into usable guidance, training artifacts, and reviewable proposals that can be evaluated by IAF committees and, where applicable, recognized only after membership and formal review with IAQC oversight.

What members typically contribute

Contributions can be educational, methodological, or research-oriented. All outputs are handled through documented committee workflows to support consistency, traceability, and peer review.

Curriculum and learning design alignment

Map course objectives to common automotive quality topics (e.g., process approach, risk-based thinking, audit fundamentals, supplier quality) and define measurable learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Research-to-practice briefs

Produce concise summaries of research findings with clear assumptions, limitations, and implementation notes suitable for committee review and potential inclusion in guidance materials.

Training material quality review

Participate in peer review of training decks, exercises, case studies, and exam items to improve clarity, technical accuracy, and consistency with agreed terminology and scope.

Collaborative working groups and workshops

Join topic-focused working groups to develop proposals, facilitate workshops, and document outcomes for committee consideration, including version control and decision records.

How recognition works within IAF

IAF is a membership-based federation. Any recognition of training programs, learning content, or research-derived guidance is considered only after membership and is evaluated through committee review. Submissions are assessed for scope, evidence quality, repeatability, and alignment with agreed practices.

Where a recognition outcome is appropriate, it is issued under documented governance steps and IAQC oversight. IAF does not act as a regulator and does not grant legal authority; outcomes are intended to support consistency and shared understanding among members.

Governance connection (Professionals & Experts • Service ID 22)

This membership area sits within Professionals & Experts (service_ and connects subject-matter expertise to IAF’s committee system. Trainers, researchers, and academics contribute proposals and materials that move through structured review, with decisions recorded and overseen by IAQC to ensure consistency and integrity across member-facing outputs.
