ADAS & Autonomous Systems Tests

ADAS and automated driving tests validate sensing, perception, decision, actuation, and human–machine interaction under clearly defined Operational Design Domains (ODDs). The International Automotive Federation (IAF) acts as a neutral orchestrator and accreditor for ADAS/automated validations—curating scenario libraries, recognizing qualified tracks/labs, and aligning evidence to regulator expectations so that results are portable and auditable across regions.

AEB & Collision Avoidance

Vehicle–vehicle, VRU (pedestrian/cyclist), junction and crossing scenarios; TTC, braking profiles, residual speed metrics.

Lane Keeping & Lateral Control

LKA/LDW performance, lane centering, cut-in/cut-out handling, road edge and degraded markings.

ACC & Longitudinal Control

Gap keeping, stop-and-go, merging, speed limit compliance, and comfort/smoothness metrics.

Automated Functions (e.g., ALKS, Parking)

ODD definition, minimum risk maneuvers, fail-operational behavior, automated parking and valet scenarios.

Driver Monitoring & HMI

Engagement checks, distraction/drowsiness detection, takeover prompts, misuse handling and tell-tales.

SIL/HIL, Track & On-Road Correlation

Requirements traceability from simulation to HIL rigs, soft targets on track, and real-world audits with logs.
