The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a distinguished career marked by technical excellence, ethical leadership, and mentorship that shaped the trajectory of the automotive sector.
Nominations should highlight landmark milestones, peer recognition, and lasting positive impact on people and industry practice.
Selection Criteria
- LA-01 Enduring impact | 30%: A sustained, evidenced contribution that changed practice, capability or outcomes.
- LA-02 Technical or institutional leadership | 25%: Leadership that advanced engineering, safety, quality, institutions or policy.
- LA-03 Mentorship and knowledge legacy | 20%: Documented development of people and durable transfer of knowledge.
- LA-04 Integrity and responsibility | 15%: A career demonstrating ethical judgement and professional responsibility.
- LA-05 Lasting relevance and collaboration | 10%: Continuing relevance and constructive influence across organisations or borders.
Examples of Recognized Contributions
Standards & Safety Frameworks
Leadership in developing influential safety or quality frameworks adopted at scale.
Institution Building
Founding or shaping key organizations, labs, or programs that endure.
Evaluation & Documentation
- Portfolio: Publications, patents, programs led, and awards received.
- References: Letters from peers, mentees, and partner institutions.
- Legacy: Evidence of sustained influence and knowledge transfer.
Eligibility & Result Period
Eligible scope: Individuals whose documented service has made an enduring contribution to automotive and mobility practice.
Admission requirement: At least 20 years of documented service is required. An entry may be made by the individual or an expressly authorised representative with written consent; unsolicited third-party and posthumous nominations are outside this edition.
Result period: Provide a dated career portfolio spanning at least 20 years and at least three independent references, including one able to verify mentorship.
Timeline
Opening, closing, evidence cutoff, review, appeal and announcement dates are stated only in the approved Season Notice.
Jury & Process
Three jurors complete preliminary scoring and five complete fresh final scoring. Category tie priorities are LA-01, then LA-04. No chair vote is used; an unresolved tie may result in no single winner.
