The Quality & Safety Leadership Award recognizes exemplary performance in design validation, testing rigor, field reliability, and organizational systems that put safety first—from concept to after-sales.
Eligible entries include OEMs, suppliers, testing bodies, and mobility operators demonstrating superior outcomes backed by verifiable data, robust processes, and proactive risk management.
Selection Criteria
- QS-01 Safety and quality outcomes | 30%: Verified product, service or operational outcomes over the defined result period.
- QS-02 Prevention and validation discipline | 25%: Risk prevention, validation, control planning and release discipline.
- QS-03 Learning and corrective effectiveness | 20%: Detection, root-cause analysis, corrective action and demonstrated recurrence prevention.
- QS-04 Leadership and speak-up culture | 15%: Accountable leadership, competence and protected escalation of concerns.
- QS-05 Continuity and sector contribution | 10%: Sustained control, resilience and learning shared beyond the immediate programme.

Zero-Defect Initiatives
Defect prevention, in-line analytics, and supplier containment programs delivering near-zero PPM.
Safety-by-Design
Early hazard analysis, robust validation, and verification plans integrated into product development.
Evaluation & Documentation
- KPIs: FRACAS, warranty return rates, PPM, audit scores, process capability (Cp/Cpk).
- Evidence Pack: Validation reports, audit records, training logs, risk registers, and CAPA evidence.
- Governance: Cross-functional safety boards and escalation protocols.
Eligibility & Result Period
Eligible scope: OEMs, suppliers, testing bodies and mobility operators demonstrating quality and safety leadership in products, services or operations.
Admission requirement: At least 12 consecutive months of results must be supplied, including failures and corrective actions. A new, unproven product alone is insufficient.
Result period: Use the latest complete 12-month period ending no more than six months before the entry deadline.
Timeline
Opening, closing, evidence cutoff, review, appeal and announcement dates are stated only in the approved Season Notice.
Jury & Process
Three jurors complete preliminary scoring and five complete fresh final scoring. Category tie priorities are QS-01, then QS-04. No chair vote is used; an unresolved tie may result in no single winner.
